I’m Adobea, a dedicated career coach and speaker. My goal: to help accomplished newcomers looking to change careers find fulfilling careers in Canada.

I immigrated to Canada in 2015 and understand firsthand the challenges of changing careers in a new country. In changing careers in a new country, you juggle a lot: skill-building, personal branding, networking, navigating the Canadian work culture, and more. This can lead to burnout, confusion and feeling lost in a maze with no clear path forward.

  • Recruiter Trailblazer in DC to Startup Leader in Ghana

    I started as a Recruiter at a non-profit in D.C., learning the ins and outs of talent acquisition. Then came the adventure of investment banking for two years in Ghana. Where I mastered the art of pitching and making connections. This set the stage for my next adventure – leading a gas startup in Ghana. Think engineers, welders, and a whole lot of hustle.

  • Tech Career Transition in Canada

    The adventurer in me yearned for more. I moved to Canada and went to UBC for an MBA, laying the groundwork for the tech-infused chapters that awaited. With 15 years of experience, I've left my mark across diverse industries- leading transformational tech, finance, and manufacturing projects.

  • Career Coach and Engaging Speaker

    In 2019, I returned to my roots and became a career development whisperer and engaging speaker. I started coaching newcomers and speaking at events with Mosaic BC and UBC to guide the next wave of newcomer professionals. Currently, I'm a Career Coach and Speaker nurturing future talents. Why? Because I'm all about individual stories, diverse workspaces, and connections that light up a room.
